Try WatchLink without a watch

On the main screen, expand “Try example checks” and choose one of the three buttons:

Each example runs automatically and displays a labelled demonstration result. Examples do not require a second device or another person, and they are not saved to your real check history. Use “Try again” to repeat an example or “Close” to return to the main screen.

Run a real check

  1. Confirm that your Apple Watch is paired with your iPhone in Apple's Watch app.
  2. Install the WatchLink companion app on that watch.
  3. Open WatchLink on both devices and keep both apps visible.
  4. Start a check on the iPhone. When prompted, tap the reply button on the watch.
  5. Review the individual observations. An accepted background message is not yet proof of delivery.

Use “Change the plan” on the main screen to repeat the preparation quiz and adjust the check options.

If there is no reply

Unlock the devices and reopen both apps. After replacing an iPhone or reinstalling an app, check pairing and companion installation again. Background delivery is scheduled by the system and may take longer than the observation window.

An unsuccessful check does not by itself identify a hardware fault. On iPad, use the demonstration checks to explore the workflow; a real local paired-watch check needs an iPhone.

Manage saved results

History contains the latest completed summaries and their dates, without temporary check codes. To remove the history, tap the trash button and confirm. Notification permission can be managed in iOS Settings and is not required for a local check.
