This policy explains how information is handled in WatchLink, also displayed as “WatchLink - Watch check”, and how to contact us about privacy.
WatchLink checks the connection between its own iPhone and Apple Watch apps. The check runs through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework without a WatchLink account or a dedicated check server.
The apps exchange random, short-lived check identifiers, sequence numbers, timestamps and replies. They also observe whether a watch is paired, whether the companion app is installed, and whether the connection is available. Check messages do not include your photos, contacts, location, personal messages or data from other apps.
The three demonstration checks use simulated responses. They do not communicate with a real watch or add results to your check history.
WatchLink keeps up to 30 completed check summaries on the iPhone, including a random record identifier, completion time, readiness flags, reply and queue statuses, and the overall result. Temporary codes and message payloads are not saved in this history. The app also stores onboarding and review-prompt preferences and a local launch counter used for review prompting.
Active check state is cleared when a check ends or is cancelled. Apple controls queued transport; a message already held by the system may remain until replaced or expired, and stale replies are rejected. Device backups may include local app data, depending on your Apple settings.
WatchLink initializes Apphud independently of the local connection check for SDK functionality, attribution and optional notifications. Apphud's automatic SDK processing may include app and device identifiers, device and software details, language, time zone, IP address, app activity and purchase-related information. The integration enables Apple Search Ads attribution. The current WatchLink interface offers no paid products or subscriptions.
If you allow notifications, the app passes the push token issued by Apple to Apphud. Notification permission is optional for connection checks. WatchLink does not send check results, temporary check codes or WatchConnectivity message contents to Apphud.
Apphud describes its processing in Data We Collect and App Privacy.
Information is used to perform checks, display recent results, maintain app reliability, understand app operation and respond to support requests. Support emails contain the information you choose to provide.
We do not sell personal information. Service providers may process information needed to operate the app and handle support. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.
Local history is limited to the latest 30 results. You can remove it in History using the trash button and confirmation. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings. Deleting local history does not automatically delete previously processed Apphud data or support correspondence.
Support and service information is retained for the purposes described above and applicable legal requirements. To request access, correction, deletion or restriction of information, contact us below. Available rights depend on your jurisdiction, and some information may need to be retained where the law requires it. We will explain any applicable limits when handling a request.
